EliteMediaGroup – A Danger Easily Conquered

Today we are going to talk about the adware program EliteMediaGroup. Before we begin, I want to make sure we are on the same page with technical definitions. I know some of my readers may be new to the world of computers and what can infect them. Adware is a program that was created to deliver advertising to you and, in some cases, gather information from your computer. Adware programs hog your computer’s resources and are responsible for the pop-up ads you receive on the web. Adware is usually bundled with freeware programs such as messengers, alerts, weather, toolbars, screen savers, etc.

In the case of EliteMediaGroup you will be flooded with pop-up ads. If that was all it did we could just call the program a nuisance. Unfortunately, that is not all it does. EliteMediaGroup runs on system start up and hides in the background, hogging your computer’s resources and slowing down not only your computer’s performance, but your Internet speed as well.

Removal by traditional means using Add/Remove Programs does not work. You have to get outside help in the form of an anti-spyware program in order to remove EliteMediaGroup from your computer. This also used to pose a problem. It has become common practice to keep at least two anti-spyware programs on your computer to combat adware, spyware, Trojans, and other malware. This is because most anti-spyware programs only remove 80-90% of the infections out there. That is a large gap they don’t cover if you look at the sheer numbers of those programs floating around.

Things changed in January of 2008. A new program called SpyZooka, was released that gives a 100% removal guarantee. This is, sadly, unheard of in the computer industry. SpyZooka made many waves since its release and has won awards hand over fist, including Tucows’ coveted five cow rating and a place in WUGNET’s Hall of Fame. SpyZooka has proven to be extremely easy to use and effective as well. I really can’t make a better recommendation for dealing with EliteMediaGroup.
