Rogue antispyware application. Downloads without user consent, usually via redirecting the browser to a fake online malware scanner. Makes false claims that it is reliable antispyware software capable of also handling registry problems and optimizing PC performance. Uses pop-up bombardment to report non-existent problems such as faulty registry values and fabricated malware supposedly on the computer as a method of scaring the user into buying the full version of Error Doctor 2009. The full version is also a fake and buying it will result only in the loss of money rather than the resolution of computing problems.
