Esorcher Sucks

I would like to tell you about an experience I recently had with a program called Escorcher. Before I begin my tale I would like to make sure we are on the same page with the definitions of the terms I will be using. The first term is adware. Adware is a program that is written specifically to flood you with advertisements, in most cases, this includes pop-ups. The second is spyware. Spyware is a program that monitors your information, from web sites visited to personal information. Information gathered using spyware can lead to identity theft in some cases.

I visited a site for a free antivirus program. This antivirus was called Escorcher. Turns out Escorcher isn’t an antivirus. It is what is referred to as rogue anti-spyware. This means it is a fake program that is really spyware. In many cases you get pop-ups telling you that you are infected and to remove this infection you have to use a specific program. Escorcher is no different. When Escorcher runs it will tell you that some of your Windows files are infected with the Parite virus and you should remove them. In most cases these files are not infected with anything, and if you remove them then your Windows will stop working. Escorcher monitors your browser activity, as well as your IP address, and will pass it on to advertisers. It will also display advertisements while you surf the Internet.

Removal of Escorcher is not as easy as going to add/remove programs and uninstalling. You will soon find that the program did not uninstall. I found out that you have to have an anti-spyware program to remove programs like Escorcher. Most anti-spyware programs only remove 80-90% of your infection, leaving you still infected.

Then I found http://www.spyzooka.com/spyware-removal-guarantee.htm. A program that guarantees 100% removal. Not only does SpyZooka remove 100% of your infection, but once installed it protects you from further infections. If that wasn’t enough information to sell you, take a look at all the awards SpyZooka has won for being a superior program.
