Oemji Bar is a spyware program first discovered on June 21 of 2005. It is a malicious Toolbar and a Browser Hijacker. It was created by Oemji, a division of Oemtec Ltd.
Oemji Bar substitutes your browser’s default search engine with its own. It will only direct your browser to its affiliate sites. These products and sites are often low quality and charge for their services. You can easily find higher quality and free services through other search engines.
From their website, they claim that “Oemtec is a leading provider and publisher of software solutions for your home and work computer. We help millions of people around the world protect, connect, and secure their computers from the outside threats unleashed into the online world. Groundbreaking distribution sources drive the core publishing of our products and services. Protection, connection, and security are Oemtec’s cornerstones.” They hardly do that, and are themselves one of the threats they profess to protect you against.
Oemji Bar has spyware capabilities, including keystroke logging and screen snapshots. This presents a threat not just to your browsing privacy, but also to your login info and your credit card numbers. You should remove it immediately with SpyZooka.
